2020 : A Roller Coaster Ride

Just A Random Blog : No Title :)

Hey There!! I am really, really and really excited to tap my fingers on the keys of my laptop, smiling along every syllable and swirling to tune of songs, I usually play on Spotify. It's been a long Roller Coaster ride since I wrote last, but yeah, now transformed and resurrected as a more mature human, who has learnt to smile more, laugh more, make new friends and learn more! It's been what? Since May or June that I wrote last?? And here I sit face-palming at the idea of jumping to type a blog just a day before a Test (lol).

It's the last day of October, and we all are busy spooking each other out (or otherwise, freaking out and shuddering as the night dawns upon us 😂) on the eve of Halloween. Millions of thoughts crossed my mind and I just wondered how beautiful and valuable life is. Every human emotion, every life lesson, every moment we create, we often forget to celebrate little pleasures, to turn on our recharge of Hope and energy, to plug in, sit back and just, Breathe.

It's been half a year that we are confined to our homes, morning jogs and runs now shaping up to workouts at home. Malls, Theatres, Zomato / Swiggy food almost seems long forgotten. Sneaking out on short vacations to remote locations and funnily getting terrified of any human within 6m radius. This has become our new normal. And ages ago, where we had Cold shoulders, Off shoulders and Vintage clothes back in trend, we are now matching masks with t-shirts, sarees and coats. This era has seen the designer wears taking a backseat and Pajamas and comfy clothes are the new hashtags.

Remember those misty mornings? Waking up at 6 a.m., drowsily dressing up, hopping on a school bus, fighting for that seat in the back, roaming around in school corridors and staff rooms, chatting away millions and billions of stories with our friends? Waging a daily battle for that ONE Games period and occasional picnics, and still not losing hope after series of repeated failures? Widening our eyes at the amount of tests and homework? Those lunch breaks where we had our own small buffet and we rarely ate our own food? Those projects, where we fought to have our best friends in our teams? Fighting for that 1/2 mark with teachers? That completing homework in the bus almost everyday? (while some of us realized that we had one in the first place 😂). Cracking silly jokes just to de-stress ourselves just before Math exam? (And after that we laughed and cheered each other with our very own self made quote- Math meaning gone 😂😂 lol) And those Basketball matches where we screamed and scored? That was WAR!
Remember Dwayne the rock- our brave 3 kg cement block who saved us from banging our heads against the malfunctioned door? He was our 30th classmate, and I miss him till today!
Oof, this is too nostalgic, I miss all of you so much!

All those long hours of weekends spent with friends in coaching classes, hopping up the flight of stairs to the 4th floor canteen, dozing off in Math classes, dueling in SST quizzes, sneaking mobiles to see IPL matches! And Now, what's the fun in Cricket without screaming and fighting for our favorite teams?

But yet, there is this spark that ignites us, to keep going, coming out with new creative ideas and fantasies. We whine, complain, cry over the life we had otherwise forgotten to value.

And yet amongst all this, I am glad that we lived to see such a year 2020- a year full of darkness and yet with a ray of sunshine. Never had I thought that I would make so many new friends online, never had I thought that I would celebrate and treat myself with rounds of Various Games over VC's, laughing over silly jokes we crack at school and classes, gleefully enjoying every moment with old and new friends online!

Times have been darker and sadder with the increasing Covid tolls, but there still is Hope fluttering in our Pandora's box, Cricketers still play with undampened enthusiasm, Artists still create beautiful songs and starring in movies, People still work relentlessly, Students are burning the midnight oil, Teachers still teaching with passion without the care for the clock.

So, to all those beautiful souls out there, I am proud of you, we all are proud of you! Even in these difficult times, you have turned over a new leaf, scaled new heights.
Even when things felt impossible, you have made them possible! And then, when life respawns, we would have a rejuvenated XP level, and the gratitude for what we are blessed with.
We are that sparkle of fairy dust, we are that sprinkle of magic, we are that secret potion, that illuminates the sky and world; We are all special - funny special, weird special, lucky special, spooky special!
We have come so far, and we sure will keep up to this changing rhythm life presents us with!

Happy Smiles! Happy Trick or Treating! Stay Tuned!

Yours's Truly,
Sayali Sachin
Ciao!
