Not A Billboard Sketch

 To A New Dawn

"Yesterday is not ours to recover but today is ours to win"

Have you ever contemplated on how your life at school has been?

Some of us will always remember these walls that have been etched with our memories, while some of us will miss the chatter of the corridors.

A year gone, a year that marks the end of our school life, and a year to begin a new dawn.

After all, an end is just a new beginning.

Many dwell of the mind chatter of yesterday, broken memories, anxieties and fears of what's to come. Some want to go back to the past to fix their mistakes, some have bucket lists of "wish I hadn't done this; wish I hadn't done that"; Some wanting to break shackles of their inner regrets, and some rushing to race with time.

Everyone is fighting, scrambling to conquer their own demons- the small "peak-a-boo" ones, and the large monstrous ones. All different, yet seemingly so alike.

Beneath all the masks, are our true human souls, hurting in their own ways.

Let's stop lamenting for the past and ruminating for the future. Learn, forgive, grow and be a better 'you'.

Let's celebrate our differences, and pledge that we don't keep looking back and embrace the greatest gift of mankind - the 'present'.

Those two roads diverged in the yellow wood are still waiting to be chosen. Choose whatever your heart sets on, and tread the way- no matter how far the journey seems to be.

Let's be brave enough to walk the road less travelled by.

A future awaits us, no matter which way it takes us. Let's keep the torch burning, the strength kindled, kindness in bounty, and to appreciate the goodness in everything.

Look at how far you've come through the rear-view mirror, but most importantly, look ahead through the windshield.

Winning the world is just a ray of sunshine away. Be bold, wear your heart on the sleeve and dance the rain away.

Sometimes it may not seem like the perfect billboard sketch, but that's the circle of life - that compels us to move ahead with a bright smile. Success is a journey, not a destination.

Let's toss our caps in the air and look forward to a new chapter- the tassel is worth the hassle.

After all,

It's your story, be brave enough to make it a blockbuster with a plot twist.

Cheers,
Sayali Sachin
